Older adults are a diverse group with unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and it is essential to incorporate such diversity in communication studies. The TWG explores ageism, biases in data, algorithms and artificial intelligence. Also, how media can better represent the diversity of aging experiences, how digital platforms allow older individuals to share their experiences and messages, or intergenerational communication. Moreover, we expect members of the TWG will contribute their agendas to enrich and widen this initial focus.
ECREA Temporary Working Groups (TWGs) are thematically organized arenas for developing specialized knowledge in specific fields of media and communication research. The TWGs are established for a term of 4 years. Mireia Fernández-Ardèvol serves as the chair of the TWG.
