The CNSC is organising the ‘Open Data and Data Visualisation Workshop with KNIME’ to be held, in hybrid format, on Tuesday 18 March at 10.00 h (CET) at the Hub Interdisciplinari de Recerca i Innovació (The C Building).
This workshop will help you to enrich your project with open data and visualise the result with maps made with free tools. If you want to make the most of the geographic information of your project, this activity will introduce you to the pre-processing and analysis of information with maps using KNIME: from theory to practice through a process of analysis with 4 different types of maps that allow you to deepen the analysis of the behaviour of the object of study from the study.
What will you get out of this workshop?
The workshop will allow you to learn how to develop the process of geographical analysis of information associated with a project. You will learn about the following key elements:
– loading data,
– validating the information,
– adapting the format of the variables,
– generating variables and cartographies on the appropriate support,
– putting information into a database,
– develop univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyses to validate or reject the working hypotheses put forward,
– identify the variables that influence the existence (or not) of certain patterns associated with the hypotheses raised.
What do I need to do the workshop?
A computer with a KNIME installation if possible or with the possibility of installing it. Are you up for it? There are only 20 places available!
The workshop will be held in Catalan and capacity will be strictly by order of registration. You can find registration information here.
