Daniel Blanche, Mireia Fernández-Ardèvol and Andrea Rosales hosted the first online workshop of the ongoing project Older audiences in the media environment: A cross-national longitudinal study. This study, supported by the ACT Project, intends to analyze the traditional and new media uses by older people and compare results across seven countries: Austria, Canada, Denmark, Israel, Netherlands, Romania, and Spain.
The goals of this first online workshop were: (1) to share knowledge about the data’s technicalities, organization, and storage; (2) to update all participants involved with their current streams of work; and (3) to discuss next steps in the upcoming sessions. The online workshop allowed to define the contents to be developed in the hands-on workshops of the European and North American teams next February 2018.
The coordinators of the study will set further online workshops in the future to monitor the development of the research outputs derived from the collected data.
