Seminar (CNSC): “Digital hybrid-democratic innocations: a tale of two cities”

Seminar (CNSC): “Digital hybrid-democratic innocations: a tale of two cities”

Next May 14, Rosa Borge Bravo, Professor of Political Science at the UOC and leader of the CNSC research group, will give a seminar exploring new forms of democratic innovation.

The session will focus on digital hybrid-democratic models, examining how two open-source participatory platforms – Decidim Barcelona and Decide Madrid (Consul) – have been implemented by local governments to integrate online and face-to-face participation, voting, and deliberation. Borge will discuss how these hybrid formats influence democratic practices and how political contexts shape their development.

The seminar will offer valuable insights into the opportunities and limitations of these platforms, now considered global references in participatory democracy and civic technology.
