A new e-book in the field of media education has been released titled “Intergeracionalidade e o mundo digital: Propostas de atividades/Intergenerationality in a digital world: Proposals of activities,” edited by the scholars Maria José Brites, Inês Amaral, Raquel Patrício, and Luís Pereira. This compilation of different contributions on the topics of (digital) media literacy, (inter)generational learning, and (in/non-)formal education, aims to be a pedagogical resource with a clear, pragmatic approach that can be used in contexts that transcend the conventional classroom setting.
Mireia Fernández-Ardèvol together with Jordi Ferran Boleda contribute to this volume with their paper “WhatsApp, is it perfect?” (pages 81-84). In this paper, the authors describe step-by-step a group activity about the WhatsApp mobile application that invites participants to carry out tasks, reflect, and discuss ideas collectively and intergenerationally.
The book is open access and available for download (see the links section).
