On 11 December, we will present the results of the study Digital Ageism: Ageist Stereotypes and the Vicious Circle of Digital Exclusion in Spain. It will take place at 10:15 a.m. at the Palau Macaya (Passeig de Sant Joan, 108) in Barcelona.
According to recent studies, ageism, rather than chronological age, is the fundamental cause of the digital divide. For this reason, we have identified and analysed the stereotypes that fuel digital ageism in Spain using data from a representative survey.
This project aims to combat digital inequality in old age and help policymakers, the third sector and industry to be more fair and inclusive. With this conference, we seek to establish a horizontal dialogue beyond the usual academic spaces.
