Call for position as research assistant in statistics

The Communication Networks & Social Change Research Group (CN&SC) is looking for applicants to fill a position as a research assistant. We are looking for highly motivated candidates in the field of statistics. Following is a summarized description of the position available:

Tasks:

• Data analysis of a national online survey about the use of communication media among older people
• Generational analysis of two waves of smartphone logs

Requirement:

• Ph.D. student, master student, or final year degree student

Profile:

• Background in statistics or in social sciences with high skills in statistics
• Interest in academic research

Skills:

• Statistical analyses: univariate, multivariate, others
• R, R Studio, SPSS, other statistical software
• Experience in management of big data

Language:

• English
• Catalan and Spanish desirable

The candidate will work on the research line of Ageing in the Network Society under the supervision of Mireia Fernández-Ardèvol and Andrea Rosales. The position is on a part-time basis (20 hours per week) for six months. The final working schedule is negotiable. Salary is dependent on the profile of the applicant.

The Communication Networks & Social Change Research Group (CN&SC) is part of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), located in the Mediterranean Technology Park in Castelldefels.
